LArche Kapiti Assistants Coordinator
LArche Kapiti provides residential homes for adults with intellectual disability. We are currently looking for a hands-on individual to effectively execute the role of Assistants Coordinator.
The Assistants Coordinator is a member of the LArche Kapiti Leadership Team and is guided by the Charter of LArche and the mission of LArche Kapiti. Together with the Community Leader and Leadership Team he/she provides support for the overall growth and direction of the community and shares responsibility for nurturing community life and ensuring quality of life for Assistants and adults with intellectual disability.
The tasks include but not limited to:
Participate in recruitment and selection of new Assistants and casual caregivers.
Ensure all employment requirements are met
Meet Assistants individually and regularly for purposes of supervision and to monitor their well-being
Facilitate period of orientation and induction for new Assistants and follow up review schedules
Plan and co-ordinate Formation and Training Program
Support and encourage interaction among Assistants, House Leaders and Day Programme Coordinator
Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented
Other Administrative duties
Qualities:
Understanding of and willingness to open up towards LArche Kapiti
Self and time management skills
Willing to work with people with different cultural backgrounds
Excellent verbal and oral communication
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work under pressure
